You can place a long vanity where the tub once sat, for example. This is helpful when multiple people share the bathroom space and provides extra counter space for bathroom items.

Be sure you consider the plumbing lines that are already installed in your bathroom space and how your renovations may require that you move them to a new spot. For example, if you want to switch the shower with the toilet and shift the toilet over three feet. A plumbing professional will need to adjust their location, which will add to your renovation cost budget. 

Consider Fixtures, Finishes, and Flooring

When you are remodeling your bathroom space, check into the types of fixtures and surfaces that are available for a bathroom space. Consider the type of finish you want and the type of material for the new vanity countertop, for example, or the color of wood on the vanity. Will you want to update the lighting to a more decorative feature to tie in your new bathroom decor style? 

Also, be sure you check into flooring options for the bathroom space that are going to be water-resistant. This can include tile and many types of laminate flooring that can give you the appearance of wood planks, for example.
